Itaewon Halloween tragedy: Actor and singer, Lee Ji-han, among the victims
SEOUL: South Korean actor and singer, Lee Ji-han, was confirmed as one of the victims who died in a stampede at the Halloween festival in Itaewon on Saturday night.
Lee, 24, started making a name for himself after participating in the second season of the reality show Produce 101 .
Lee’s agency, 935 Entertainment, confirmed the matter in a media statement, on Sunday.
Many South Korean celebrities expressed grief and condolences following the tragedy.
Following the tragedy, several concerts and entertainment programs have been postponed and cancelled.
The Busan One Asia Festival 2022 concert scheduled to take place on Oct 30 was also canceled and the organizers announced that money would be refunded.
EXO member Chen’s comeback performance scheduled for Oct 31 has also been postponed, with a representative from SM Entertainment informing that the release date of Chen’s third mini album, Last Scene, has also been postponed.
The death toll from the stampede increased to 154 including 26 foreigners .
The incident occurred on Saturday night when a large group of visitors gathered in conjunction with the Halloween party and filled a narrow 3.2 meter wide alley in the Itaewon district of Seoul.
