Widuri’s singer, Bob Tutupoly, died at the age of 82

JAKARTA: Indonesian singer famous for his song Widuri , Bob Tutupoly passed away on Tuesday, at 12.03 midnight local time at Mayapada Hospital, Jakarta.

The sad news was conveyed by music observer Stanley Tulung, through a short message.

Meanwhile, in his Facebook account, Stanley, who is also a close friend of Bob, also conveyed the news of the legendary singer’s passing, accompanied by a photo with him.

It is understood that Bob has been facing health problems lately and often commutes to the hospital for treatment.

Bob was born in Surabaya on November 13, 1939. Throughout his life, the man from Ambon, Maluku was not only known as a singer but also hosted a quiz program on television, as well as a ceremony host.

His body is currently placed at the Funeral Home, Siloam Hospital, Semanggi, Jakarta.

A few months ago, a number of artists and celebrities had the opportunity to visit Bob who was then in a wheelchair. Among the industry partners who have visited him to give encouragement are Tantowi Yahya and Yuni Shara.

“Om Bob’s healthy spirit ….. whose memory is amazing, and still enjoys singing,” said Yuni Shara via her Instagram account @yunishara36, on May 15.

Singer Krisdayanti’s older sister also uploaded her video with Bob and invited words of sympathy and encouragement from her followers.

During Bob’s trip back and forth to receive treatment at the hospital, there were several false rumors stating that he had died, but close friends like Stanley immediately came forward to deny the matter.

Only this time, news of Bob Tutupoly has been confirmed, and his departure leaves a wife and a child.
