Adibah Noor only found out she had cancer three months ago
KUALA LUMPUR: A close acquaintance of Adibah Noor, Baki Zainal revealed that the late only knew about the cancer she suffered about three months ago.
According to Baki or real name Zahimin Baki Zainal, 41, the famous singer and performer decided to keep it a secret from public knowledge because he felt it was his responsibility as an artist and caliph, to only spread happiness and love.
“Actually, it was very sudden (Allahyarham Adibah knew about the disease) … she herself knew recently. In these two or three months, only family and close friends found out.
“Ällahyarham entrusts not to tell stories. Like I said, sister feels her responsibility as an artist and caliph is to spread happiness and love.
“From there, he doesn’t want people to be sad, he doesn’t want people to know stories like this and that is his right. That’s why we all respect his rights,” he said when met after the funeral ceremony at the Taman Permai Keramat Islamic Cemetery, here today.
Sharing further, Baki said, he himself was shocked when he found out about the health condition of the singer of the song Terlalu Istimewa .
He added that the health condition of the late is seen to be improving, however, he calmed down with the departure of the beloved artist.
“Sister gives a lot of orders and I think one thing I want to share with everyone is that no one needs to know how hard and difficult what we are going through.
“Our job (as human beings) is to make people smile, to make people happy. From there, whatever difficulties we make first and most importantly we are sincere,” he added.
Adibah or real name Adibah Noor Mohamed Omar, 51, breathed her last at about 7.45pm on Saturday at a private hospital in the capital due to ovarian cancer.
