Lets xplore Malaysia with special incentives

TO further boost the country’s domestic tourism, the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture (MOTAC) through Tourism Malaysia has launched the Tourism Recovery Plan 2022 and the second version of the Malaysian Holiday Song, recently.

Its Minister, Datuk Seri Nancy Shukri said, the launch of this plan aims to attract the public to continue booking transport tickets or tour packages at special prices.

“This step can further stimulate the demand of the tourism industry to support those affected to remain competitive.

“At the same time, it is hoped that this initiative can restore confidence to travel and boost domestic tourism as well as maximize existing resources,” he told reporters.

He said this while speaking at the Launching Ceremony of the Malaysia Tourism Plan 2022 and the second version of the Malaysian Holiday Song at the Sheraton Petaling Jaya Hotel, on May 17 (Tuesday).

The ceremony was also attended by MOTAC Deputy Minister, Datuk Seri Santhara Kumar Ramanaidu; Deputy Secretary General of Tourism, Mohd Zamri Mat Zain; Chairman of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Seri Ramlan; Director General of Tourism Malaysia, Datuk Zainuddin Abdul Wahab and senior officials of ministries and agencies.

Commenting further, Nancy informed, the Tourism Recovery Plan 2022 which is a continuation of the Economic Stimulus Package (PRE 1.0) is one of the initiatives under the Tourism Industry Recovery Plan involving the distribution of incentives to Malaysians in the form of discounts, vouchers and rebates.

“The incentive has started on April 29 and covers two clusters, namely the Land Transport Cluster and the Tourism Association Cluster.

“However, it will be expanded in stages to involve the Air Transport Cluster and Accommodation Cluster as well as the Special Interest Tourism Cluster to
include the scuba diving, home stay, shopping and theme park segments,” he said.

FARE DISCOUNTS AND TOURISM PACKAGES

IN the meantime, Nancy said, under the Land Transport Cluster, Tourism Malaysia has entered into a strategic partnership with KLIA Ekspres and Keretapi Tanah Melayu Berhad (KTMB) services in offering fare discounts between RM10 to RM15 which will benefit 64,675 users.

“Redeem the purchase of discounted KLIA round trip tickets (one way) and KTMB tickets for Malaysians with MyKad from April 29 to November 30,” he said.

He added that under the Tourism Association Cluster, Tourism Malaysia is once again collaborating with the Malaysian Domestic Tourism Association (MITA), Malaysian Chinese Inbound Tourism Promotion Association (MICA), Malaysian Chinese Tourism Association (MCTA), Malaysian Indian Travel and Tourism Association (MITTA). and the Association of Bumiputera Tourism Operating Companies Malaysia (BUMITRA) in offering various domestic travel destination packages by registered travel agents through the Shopee e-marketplace application.

“Malaysians can get a discount of RM100 for a transaction to purchase a travel package worth RM200 and above from April 29 to October 31 for the travel period until December 31.
