Status of cooperation with Bersatu to be reviewed following PN’s deregistration – Amirudin

SHAH ALAM: Selangor Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Amirudin Shari said he would examine the status of cooperation between the Selangor United Malaysian Party (Bersatu) and the state government following the decision to deregister the Perikatan Nasional (PN).

He said the position of the collaboration would be determined after a review within one to two days, but stressed that the current plan was with Bersatu and not PN.

“We are not sure (PN’s position), I have to check first. Maybe in one or two days we will determine its position (collaboration) with Bersatu.”

“The issue of PN’s registration cancellation is an internal problem that they must resolve themselves. Because our plan is with Bersatu, not PN,” he said.

He said this when met by reporters at the Water Supply Management Technology Professional Certificate Presentation Ceremony.

Amirudin, who is also PKR vice-president, said the cooperation agreement between the state government and Bersatu is expected to be signed next week, subject to further confirmation.

“I’ll have to wait for confirmation first, maybe after the 25th or 26th day of the month,” he said.

Previously, the Registrar of Societies (ROS) decided to cancel PN’s registration under subparagraph 13(1)(c)(iv) of the Societies Act 1966.

The Malaysian Societies Registration Department (JPPM) said the decision was made after receiving feedback from PN on October 12 following a notice issued on September 22.
