SKMM has no power to block Aliff Syukri’s video
KUALA LUMPUR: The Communications and Multimedia Commission has no power to directly block video clips by cosmetics entrepreneur, Datuk Seri Aliff Syukri Kamarzaman.
Minister of Communications and Multimedia, Tan Sri Annuar Musa said, the matter can only be done when a court order is obtained.
“If we block first, people can sue us. If you want to block, it must be based on the law.
“The ministry cannot block. The court can decide the block. The ministry is just implementing.
“If the minister can block. I have things to block these days. But you have to follow the law. He has a method, ”he said during the Iftar Ceremony with the media here on Tuesday.
He added that if something could not be proven to be illegal, no action would be taken.
“Only if they break the law, then there will be action that can be taken. If not, we cannot do something on the basis of liking, ”he said.
When asked to comment on the issue, he did not comment as it would be considered prejudicial to the investigation.
