AR Rahman’s concert left a deep impression on Malaysians
KUALA LUMPUR: Although more than a week has passed since the legendary music maestro AR Rahman held a spectacular concert in Kuala Lumpur, his performance is still the talk of the social media with various comments being made about the content of the concert.
Most of them generally praised the excellent performance of the Oscar-winning Indian music composer in the ‘AR Rahman – Secret of Success – Live in Malaysia 2023’ concert held at Bukit Jalil National Stadium on 28 Jan.
Many said the mega concert revealed a different side of the Indian music composer that fans rarely get to see.
“The concert was attended by 72,137 spectators, with about 18,000 foreigners also present,” said Founder and Chairman of DMY Creation Datuk Mohamed Yusoff, as the organizer of the concert through a post on Instagram, recently.
He said the concert was touted as the biggest involving Indian artists to Malaysia, something Malaysians should be proud of because they have contributed to improving the country’s domestic economy through ticket sales.
About 4,000 people had worked tirelessly to make the concert a success, where large screens with 24k resolution were placed on both sides of the stage, allowing fans to witness the spectacular view of the concert, he said.
Organized in conjunction with the celebration of 30 years of his journey in the music industry, the AR Rahman concert was further enhanced by the presence of the Prime Minister of Malaysia, Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim and his wife, Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail.
The concert marked the music composer’s return to Kuala Lumpur after six years, also featuring a special performance by Malaysia’s number one singer Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin who duetted with Indian singer Haricharan Seshadri through the song ‘ Munbe Vaa ‘.
