Wan Azizah launched the biography of Tan Sri Asiah Abu Samah
KUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister’s wife Datuk Seri Dr Wan Azizah Wan Ismail today launched a biography book titled “Tan Sri Asiah Abu Samah A Women of Substance” at the Universiti Malaya Clubhouse Alumni Association here.
The 203-page book chronicles the career path of the country’s education figure and is a tribute to her leadership, vision and contribution who is also the first female former Malaysian Director-General of Education.
The book was written and maintained by five former students of Tunku Kurshiah College (TKC), namely Sharifah Maimunah Syed Zain, Asma Abdullah, Rodziah Ahmad Tajuddin, Rozita Rosli and Naziah Nawawie.
Dr Wan Azizah in her speech expressed her appreciation for the contribution of Asiah who was also her former teacher when she was studying at TKC and one of the individuals who shaped and shaped her personality.
“This book will tell who we know and who we don’t know Tan Sri Asiah,” she said.
