
The entertainment center lurking behind the cafe was raided
KUALA LUMPUR: A cafe in Jalan Batai, Damansara Heights here which operates as an entertainment center was raided early Sunday morning.
Brickfields District Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Amihizam Abdul Shukor said the raid was carried out at 12.15 midnight.
“As a result of the police raid they arrested a 29 -year -old man who was acting as a caretaker of the premises.
“Besides that, a total of 33 local customers comprising 19 men and 14 women were also checked through the raid,” he said in a statement on Sunday.
He said various equipment believed to be used at the premises were also confiscated.
“Among those seized involved two pieces of business receipts, an iPad and a music player.
“The case is being investigated under Section 4 of the Federal Territory Entertainment Act 1952,” he said.
According to him, the public who have information related to the misuse of business licenses are asked to channel it to the police.
“People who have information related to the misuse of business licenses for carrying out entertainment center activities are advised to channel the information to the police for further action.
“The police take any illegal entertainment center activity seriously,” he said.
