Ops Tiris 3.0 records RM14.9 million in seizures in three months – Armizan

PASIR MAS: The Ministry of Domestic Trade and Cost of Living (KPDN) recorded a seizure value of RM14.9 million through Ops Tiris 3.0 from January to March 15.

Domestic Trade and Cost of Living Minister Datuk Armizan Mohd Ali said a total of 12,252 inspections were carried out and 433 cases were reported, including smuggling of controlled goods such as petrol and diesel.

“During that period, 120 arrests were made, including offences under the Supply Control Act 1961 (Act 122),” he told reporters after inspecting illegal petrol stations and bases at the Rantau Panjang border here today.

Armizan said the statistics on the value of Ops Tiris 3.0 seizures last year and 2024 showed a decrease as a result of proactive cooperation with various security agencies such as the General Operations Force (GOF).

“Although the value of the seizures has shown a decrease, we are not taking it lightly because there is a risk of a global energy crisis occurring at the moment.”

“Therefore, the government is mobilizing a contingency plan to ensure the continuity of energy supply to meet domestic needs,” he said.

Armizan said that one of the government’s main focuses in ensuring the continuity of supply is not only ensuring supply stability, but also taking immediate steps to tighten control and monitoring of distribution.

“Apart from existing enforcement to curb manipulation activities of controlled goods, the risk of leakage is increasing following the West Asian conflict which has resulted in a global energy crisis,” he said.
