adminALOR SETAR: The National Farmers’ Organisation (Nafas) through its subsidiary, Malaysian NPK Fertilizer Sdn Bhd (MNFSB) successfully distributed 10,500 metric tonnes (MT) of Supplementary Compound Paddy Fertilizer for Season 1 to the Muda Agricultural Development Authority (MADA) area, today.
Nafas General Manager Muhammad Faris Arriffin said the distribution within 10 days, which was also large-scale, was given directly to 27 MADA Area Farmers’ Organisations (PPK) as strategic stockists to ensure that agricultural inputs reach the hands of farmers according to the critical planting schedule.
“This integrated operation was launched immediately upon receiving the supply order on Sept 3.”
“Through non-stop logistics alignment, 93 percent or 9,778 MT (equivalent to 391,116 bags) was successfully distributed to the stockist level as of yesterday evening,” he said in a statement today.
He said the remaining 10,500 MT was fully distributed this afternoon.
The speed of implementation proves the readiness of the Nafas ecosystem in responding to urgent needs at the farm level.
He said the 10,500 MT was a trust for the welfare of the farmers and the success in meeting the 10-day timeline also proved that when the Nafas, MNFSB, MADA and 27 PPK networks move simultaneously, it is able to resolve problems to protect the interests of the farmers.
“The true measure of our operations is product quality and timeliness. This operational capability is supported by MNFSB in Gurun, which has an annual production capacity of 360,000 MT.
“As a strategic asset of Nafas, this factory ensures that the country’s agro-food input supply remains sustainable and responsive,” he said.
He said Nafas would like to express its appreciation to the management of MADA, 27 PPKs, logistics partners, as well as Nafas and MNFSB employees who are committed to moving this supply chain forward until completion.
