Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang is the best platform for PMKS traders in the product market
MELAKA: Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang which is organized throughout Ramadan to allow people to buy Eid preparations is the best platform for micro, small and medium enterprise (PMKS) traders to market their products.
Klebang State Assembly Member Datuk Lim Ban Hong said the organization of the bazaar is also in line with the government’s focus on developing more PMKS thus advancing the people’s economy, especially after the COVID-19 pandemic.
“If we look at most of the traders who participate in Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang, they are among traders or micro, small and medium entrepreneurs who need an area to do business in order to expand their business.
“Every year this bazaar also becomes a platform to train and produce more PMKS dealers, especially the youth,” he told reporters here last night.
He said this at a press conference and visited the sales stall at Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang which was also attended by Paya Rumput assemblyman Datuk Rais Yasin and Glam Bazar Klebang General Manager Rashid Omar.
Commenting on Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang, Lim said the organizers are expected to ensure that the journey of the bazaar from various aspects including cleanliness, safety, parking and traffic flow runs smoothly and safely.
“The organizers have been given guidelines for organizing the bazaar that should be done by the Historic Melaka City Council (MBMB) and they need to be followed…we will also monitor from time to time throughout the duration of the bazaar,” he said.
He said compliance with the guidelines is important because the bazaar is an annual and iconic program for Klebang State Assembly which is able to attract tourists from inside and outside Melaka.
Meanwhile, Rashid said about 1.5 million people are expected to visit the Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang during the 30 days of its organization and as many as 177 tents will be set up with offers for the sale of various items necessary for preparation in conjunction with Eid, including baju kurung, baju Melayu, tudung, shoes and kuih raya .
He said in addition, lucky draw prizes worth up to RM50,000 in the form of Proton Saga cars and Yamaha Y16ZR motorcycles were also provided for lucky visitors.
“Visitors have the opportunity to participate in a lucky draw by spending as little as RM30 at any stall at Glam Ramadan Bazar Klebang and the organization of this bazaar will be further enlivened with performances by artists such as Datuk Awie and Erra Fazira on April 2,” he said.
He said that even though the bazaar was organized with a glamorous and modern concept, religious activities such as prayer programs before breaking the fast, al-Quran khatam on the night of Nuzul al-Quran and the distribution of bubur lambuk were also held as part of the bazaar.
