Adele broadcasts Olympic women’s 100m final at Munich concert
PARIS: British singer Adele delighted her fans by showing the Olympic women’s 100m semi-final and final at her concert in Munich.
The singer known for his song “Someone Like You” is holding 10 concerts in Germany this month in a special arena that can accommodate 80,000 people every night, the German Press Agency (dpa) reported.
Videos shared on social media showed the semi-finals in a packed stadium and the final broadcast live from Paris.
The final saw Julien Alfred from St. Lucia won the gold medal.
The 16-time Grammy winner announced in July that he would be taking a “long break” from music after his upcoming concert series.
“My energy is very low at the moment. I don’t have any plans for new music at all.
“I want to take a long break after all this and I think I want to do something else for a while,” he told German broadcaster ZDF.
The singer last performed in Europe in 2016 and in the UK in July 2022 at the British Summer Time festival in Hyde Park.
