GSF Mission 2.0: Critical ground support, decisive for flotilla success – SNCC

BARCELONA: Ground support involving the civil society is very important to ensure that the Gaza issue continues to be raised and not forgotten.

Director-General of the Sumud Nusrantara Control Centre (SNCC), Datuk Sani Araby said this support was even more important, especially when the Global Sumud Flotilla 2.0 mission began its voyage yesterday.

“There is no point in sailors being in international waters and being able to gather more than 100 ships heading to Gaza but failing to mobilize support from land,” he said during an interview with Astro AWANI here yesterday.

He added that global support is needed to push for several key issues that are hindering Palestinians in Gaza who are currently facing pressure from the Israeli Zionist regime.

Among them are laws that impose the death penalty on Palestinian prisoners in Israeli prisons and demands the withdrawal of regime forces from the Gaza Strip.

He also called on Malaysians to unite in expressing support and widely spreading information about the demand.

“I urge Malaysians to unite in supporting the effort (GSF 2.0), the world really needs to focus and act,” he said.

For the record, there are dozens of participants from Malaysia also involved in this mission, involving new participants and previous mission participants.

Sani also stated that Malaysia’s holistic participation, from the media to the volunteers, has been praised by the world community.

“We are moving forward, in 100 countries we alone represent the country compared to other countries,” he added.
