KLANG: UMNO has never closed the door to negotiations with any party, including in the face of the upcoming State Election (PRN).
Its Secretary-General, Datuk Asyraf Wajdi Dusuki, said the party was always open to discussions for the sake of political stability and common interests.
“UMNO is always open to negotiations with all parties, there is no problem,” he said in response to a statement by the Johor People’s Justice Party (PKR) expressing its willingness to hold negotiations with UMNO.
Earlier, Asyraf Wajdi was present to officiate the closing of the Mara International Education Conference here on Wednesday.
Previously, Johor PKR chairman Datuk Seri Dr Zaliha Mustafa was reported to have said that his party welcomed any form of cooperation in preparation for the state election.
According to him, the negotiations, however, need to be carried out in an orderly and prudent manner, in line with the spirit of the Madani Government to ensure political stability and achieve mutual victory.
