‘The Sandbox’, Malaysia’s first co-financed reality TV show
KUALA LUMPUR: The sandbox becomes a place for children to play, express their creativity and explore new ideas without fear or limits.
That spirit of courage and exploration is brought and worked on in The Sandbox , Malaysia’s first publicly funded Chinese-language reality television show, brought exclusively by Astro.
It is presented by a joint venture between Astro and the country’s largest public funding platform, MyStartr, featuring 12 teams of visionary entrepreneurs competing to win a business grant worth RM1 million to make their dream business a reality.
The Sandbox is hosted by Xiao Ma, and also features three successful entrepreneurs from the country, namely the founder and CEO of CUCKOO International, KC Hoe; founder of Tealive, Bryan Loo; and Executive Chairman of Khind Holdings Berhad, PC Cheng as a mentor.
The participants will go through three levels of challenging tests in The Sandbox , starting with the “Elevator Pitch” challenge, followed by the “Business Modal Canvas” quick preparation challenge and finally a battle between teams in the “Crowd Funding” challenge before the final three entrepreneurs will be selected to be presented to 100 public funders.
Who should watch this show? Everyone, especially micro, small and medium entrepreneurs, investors who are exploring potential projects and those who are interested in venturing into the entrepreneurial arena.
The Sandbox is broadcast on Astro AEC channel 306 every Saturday at 8.30pm, also watchable on AstroGO as well as Astro On-Demand.
