Oasis still welcome at Munich hotel despite 2002 brawl

MUNICH: Oasis stars Liam and Noel Gallagher are still welcome at Munich’s luxury Bayerischer Hof hotel despite a fight involving Liam more than two decades ago, according to the hotel.

“Of course, the two brothers are always welcome here,” a hotel spokesman told the German News Agency (dpa) after the band announced new concert dates in Munich.

“Even after that incident, our door was always open for them.”

The incident occurred on the night of December 1, 2002, when Liam Gallagher and two other members of the band were arrested after being involved in a fight in Munich. Noel Gallagher was not involved in the incident.

Liam was detained overnight.

Hotel manager Innegrit Volkhardt later said Oasis was not the only party to blame and the hotel still welcomed them back.

That opportunity may come next year when Oasis are scheduled to perform at the Allianz Arena, Munich on 2 and 3 July 2027.

The concert will be the group’s first appearance in Germany since 2009.
