adminWASHINGTON: American entrepreneur Elon Musk said on Friday that his company, Neuralink, has introduced a new product called Blindsight, designed to allow people with vision loss to see again, Sputnik/RIA Novosti reported.
“Our second product is called Blindsight and as the name suggests, it will allow people who are completely blind or have never had vision to gain the ability to see. From an engineering standpoint, it’s ready. We’re just waiting for regulatory approval,” Musk said via the X platform.
The billionaire also mentioned another product of the company, Telepathy, which will be introduced in 2024.
“It enables high-speed communication with computers or humans simply through thought. In a few years, the capacity to transmit information will far surpass the speed of speech or typing of the fastest human,” Musk explained.
In the comments section of the post, Musk also answered a question from a father who wanted to know if Neuralink’s product could help his young daughter who suffers from epilepsy.
Musk said the device under development has the potential to help control some types of epilepsy, but the technology is not yet sufficiently refined at this stage.
