Falling ill since the MCO, Wan Raja lost 10kg due to chronic gastritis
ACTOR Wan Raja revealed that his body had shrunk after facing chronic gastric problems or gastroesophageal reflux (GERD) since the Movement Control Order (MCO) phase due to the recent COVID-19 pandemic.
Because of that, Wan Raja or real name Saiful Redzuan Abu Bakar, 44, said his weight dropped up to 10 kilograms (kg).
“Actually, I’m thin because of GERD. I can’t eat indiscriminately because if I eat the wrong thing it will have serious consequences.
“Among the foods I have to avoid now is KFC’s ‘ coleslaw ‘ which is also a favorite food from the past.
“So when I eat less, my body also drops from 80 kilograms to 70 kilograms now,” he said .
Wan Raja was found recently while filming the movie “Gold” produced by Astro Shaw at Melawati Stadium Shah Alam.
Wan Raja added, GERD also tends to cause him to have severe ‘ anxiety ‘ attacks that make it difficult to sleep due to chest tightness and shortness of breath.
GERD anxiety will attack indefinitely, so I also have to avoid driving long distances or ‘ outstation ‘ because I am worried about contracting the disease.
“I also did not dare to go out to work alone, I had to ask a friend to accompany me, especially when I was filming a telefilm outside Kuala Lumpur last year,” he said.
Wan Raja, who starred in the movie Gold, was given the trust to play the role of the country’s badminton legend, Datuk Misbun Sidek.
In addition to Wan Raja, the film which tells the true story of a champion of the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games, Cheah Like Hou also stars Farid Kamil, Jack Tan and many others.
