KUALA LUMPUR: The Dewan Rakyat today approved the motion to appoint four Members of Parliament, two each from the government and the opposition, to sit on the Parliamentary Service Council.

They are Ramkarpal Singh (PH-Bukit Gelugor), Datuk Seri Hasni Mohammad (BN-Simpang Renggam), Datuk Seri Dr Ronald Kiandee (PN-Beluran) and Datuk Seri Takiyuddin Hassan (PN-Kota Bharu).

The motion was tabled by Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim in accordance with Section 3(2)(f) of the Parliamentary Services Act 2025 based on the recommendation of the Dewan Rakyat Select Committee.

According to the motion, the Selection Committee, which met on Oct 13, agreed to propose the four MPs to sit on the council.

“That in accordance with Section 3(2)(f) of the Parliamentary Services Act 2025, the four Dewan Rakyat Members proposed by the Selection Committee are accepted and agreed to,” said Anwar when reading out the motion in the Dewan Rakyat today.

The motion was then approved by voice vote without debate after the Speaker of the Dewan Rakyat Tan Sri Dr Johari Abdul announced that agreement had been reached in the committee meeting on the four proposed names and there was no need for a debate on the motion.
