adminKUCHING: National Miss Datuk Seri Siti Nurhaliza Tarudin fulfilled her predictions at the 25th Music Industry Awards (AIM25) held at the Borneo Convention Centre Kuching (BCCK) last night after winning the Best Song category trophy, thus cementing her status as a national music icon.
Siti Nurhaliza, 47, won the category with her masterpiece Pesanan Buat Diri, which also won the Best Traditional Song category.
The popular singer also won the Best Female Vocal category for the song Kesuma and Best Collaboration between a Local Artist/Songwriter and a Foreign Artist/Songwriter (Cenderamaya).
Meanwhile, rising and talented young singer, Aisha Retno, also achieved sweet success when she was crowned the winner of the Best Album category with her debut album Re.Hab, in addition to also winning the Best Album Recording and Best Local English Song categories with (ORBIT).
Also stealing the spotlight was singer Mimi Fly, who won five trophies when she was crowned the winner of the Best Celebration Song through Serumpun, in addition to winning the categories of Song with the Highest Revenue on Tiktok (Serumpun), Best Music Video (Temberang), Best Music Arrangement in a Song (Nara) and Best Electronic Pop/Dance Song (Temberang).
Meanwhile, Mawat was crowned the inaugural recipient of the Best Borneo Song Award, presented by Sarawak Premier Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
The victory for Dayang Bintang made the singer the first artist to embrace the new category introduced for the first time in AIM history, thus elevating Borneo’s language, culture and musical identity to the national awards stage.
The highlight of the night was the presentation of the Sri Wirama Award to singer Ella in recognition of her contributions to the country’s music industry.
