Wiz Khalifa and Makua Rothman Team Up with Ozium for “Clear the Air” Campaign
New single and video challenge cannabis stigma while celebrating music, surfing, and lifestyle
NEW YORK, Feb. 24, 2025 / – Grammy-nominated rapper Wiz Khalifa and world champion surfer-songwriter Makua Rothman have joined forces with Ozium to release “Clear the Air”, a dynamic new track and music video that embraces self-expression while pushing back against outdated cannabis stereotypes.
For over five decades, Ozium has been a household name in air purification, originally developed to eliminate airborne bacteria rather than simply masking odors. Over the years, it has gained a loyal following, particularly among cannabis users, and has even been referenced in more than 50 hip-hop songs—including a nod from Wiz Khalifa himself.
Now, with its “Clear the Air” campaign, Ozium is leaning into its cultural influence. Developed in collaboration with independent creative agency Madwell, the initiative celebrates authenticity and individuality.
“This campaign is about staying true to who we are,” said John Rabenhost, CEO of Niteo Products. “Wiz and Makua perfectly represent the connection between music, lifestyle, and the freedom to express yourself.”
For Wiz Khalifa, the campaign is about more than just odor control—it’s about setting the right mood and energy.
“Clearing the air isn’t just about smoke—it’s about good vibes, fresh spaces, and positive energy,” said Khalifa. “I’ve been using Ozium forever, so this was a natural fit. Whether you’re in the studio, on the road, or just chilling, keeping the air fresh is a must.”
Adding another layer to the campaign, Ozium is offering fans the chance to win exclusive merchandise, including custom jewelry designed by If & Co—the same brand behind the Ozium bracelet seen on Wiz Khalifa in the “Clear the Air” music video.
For Makua Rothman, the collaboration is nostalgic.
“Back in the day, when surfers like me were considered ‘bad boys,’ our routine was simple—surf, sing, smoke, repeat,” Rothman shared. “At the time, cannabis was both taboo and illegal, and Ozium was our go-to for keeping things discreet. Now, as a father, I use it to clear the air from all the wild kid smells at home. Ozium has been with me through every chapter of life!”
With a bold message, a vibrant new track, and a campaign that honors both culture and community, “Clear the Air” is set to make waves across music, surfing, and cannabis spaces alike.
