Twitter will charge US$20 per month for authorized users
MOSCOW: Social network Twitter plans to charge users US$20 a month for authentication as part of an overhaul announced by Elon Musk, Sputnik reported, citing media on Monday.
Employees involved in the project were notified on Sunday that they had to roll out the feature by Nov. 7 or they would lose their jobs, the Verge reported.
Musk finalized the acquisition of Twitter with a purchase worth US$44 billion last Friday. He said on Sunday that “the whole verification process is being overhauled”.
An optional premium subscription now costs US$4.99 per month. The new feature, called Twitter Blue, costs US$19.99 per month, the Verge reports.
