adminLONDON: Pop star Taylor Swift has broken two Spotify records, including being crowned the most streamed female artist in a single day for 2026, following the release of a new single and an extended edition album, reported PA Media/dpa .
Swift, 36, released her new song Patient Zero on Friday, which became the most-streamed song by a female artist in a single day in 2026, according to the music streaming platform.
She also released four new songs through Life Of A Showgirl: The Encore, thus breaking the record for the most streamed female artist in a single day this year.
It is her first new music since marrying NFL star Travis Kelce at Madison Square Garden in New York in July, with the singer responding to criticism of their relationship with one of her new songs, Cleveland! — the city where Kelce grew up.
Other songs on the album include Patient Zero, Pink Clouding and Babylon.
The extended edition album received less positive reviews from critics, with The Telegraph , The Independent and The Guardian giving it two stars each.
The Guardian described it as: “It’s like watching an aspiring chorus line dancer desperately show off under the spotlight to prove that she’s worthy of our love.”
The Times of London gave it four stars and described the new song as “a reminder that when it comes to taking the nuances of a personal diary and making it suitable for mainstream pop music, no one does it better.”
The songs in the expanded edition are not leftovers from the original album released in 2025, but were instead written after the album achieved success.
The singer will premiere a new music video for her song Patient Zero, featuring actors Dakota Johnson and Colin Farrell, at the MTV Video Music Awards on Sunday.
Swift will also be honored at the event with the inaugural MTV Artist Director Award, which celebrates musicians who direct their own music videos.
Earlier this year, Swift was named the most streamed artist of all time since the music platform launched nearly 20 years ago.
The achievement also adds to the string of records Swift has created this year after she made history as the youngest woman to be inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in June.
