Kota Kinabalu — The success of women entrepreneurs under the Sahabat Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia (AIM) programme in Sabah continues to inspire others after recording a zero per cent Portfolio At Risk (PAR), reflecting their strong discipline and capability in financial and entrepreneurial management.
Sabah Deputy Chief Minister III and Minister of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport, Datuk Ewon Benedick, said the achievement demonstrates the extraordinary commitment of women entrepreneurs in ensuring full repayment of their loans without any arrears.
“I would like to express my respect and pride towards Sahabat AIM entrepreneurs in Sabah for achieving a 0% Portfolio At Risk (PAR), which means all entrepreneurs have successfully repaid their loans,” he said.
“This clearly shows the discipline and economic management skills among women through the Sahabat AIM programme,” he added.
Ewon was speaking at the Pinknuari Gala & Legacy Night, organised by the Kota Kinabalu Sahabat Ikhtiar Entrepreneurs Club (KUSIKK) at the Sabah International Convention Centre (SICC) here last night.
He said the achievement not only proves the effectiveness of entrepreneurship development programmes, but also serves as a model and inspiration for more women to venture into business in a sustainable manner.
During his speech, Ewon also shared several success stories of women entrepreneurs he had previously visited, as a source of motivation for AIM entrepreneurs to continue striving and remain competitive.
“Under the Ministry of Industrial Development, Entrepreneurship and Transport (MINDET) Sabah, various entrepreneurship development initiatives have been implemented to strengthen the entrepreneurial ecosystem in the state,” he said.
At the event, several outstanding entrepreneurs were honoured with entrepreneurship awards.
“I hope the success of Sahabat AIM entrepreneurs in their respective businesses will continue to inspire other entrepreneurs throughout Sabah,” he said.
Ewon also invited individual category winners and block leaders from the block category to attend a special engagement session next week.
“This initiative aims to allow me to personally hear their issues, challenges and suggestions, while also providing additional incentives as encouragement to entrepreneurs who demonstrate excellent performance,” he added.
