Rozita Che Wan welcomes her son-in-law, Ammar Effendy, happily married

KUALA LUMPUR: Sensational actress and entrepreneur, Rozita Che Wan, welcomed a son-in-law when her eldest son, Ammar Effendy Azuar Effendy, happily married the love of her life, Auni Ikhwan, on Friday.

The couple was married by the wali who is also the bride’s father, Ikhwan Hashim, with a single prayer at a ceremony held at GlamHall Damansara, here, at about 8.41pm last night.

The marriage ceremony was witnessed by Assistant Marriage Registrar and Imam of the Damansara Perdana Mosque, Abdus Salam Mahmud.

Taking the blessings of the 10th of Muharram, the ‘Garden Wedding’ themed ceremony was attended by more than 200 guests consisting of family members and close acquaintances of both brides and grooms.

At the ceremony, Ammar presented a dowry of RM300 and a gift in the form of a gold bar.

The bride and groom also exchanged seven trays of gifts. At the ceremony to cancel the prayer water, a 1.8-carat diamond ring was presented as a symbol.

Rozita, affectionately known as Che Ta, could not hold back her tears as she let her eldest son take on the responsibility of being her husband.

“Stay together even when things aren’t perfect. Hopefully Ammar will be a protective husband and not a ‘bossy’ one. For Auni, be a wife who is always there for you.”

“In marriage, happiness is not about the couple who are not tested, but the couple who are together even when tested,” he said in a trembling tone.

As a mother who has gone through a separation phase before experiencing happiness, Che Ta hopes that her children and daughters-in-law will always be realistic in navigating their household.

“In married life, there will definitely be tests. Try to remain intact and tolerant. Marriage is not like changing clothes.

“Despite facing various challenges, don’t take the easy way out. May they both color their household with full sakinah, mawaddah and warahmah,” he said.

Regarding the theme of the ceremony, Che Ta said the ‘Garden Wedding’ concept was chosen with the consent of the family in addition to emphasizing minimalist elements.

The bride and groom looked elegant in all-white attire, with Ammar wearing a dress designed by Man Kajang, while Auni wore a dress by Zaimi Zulkafli.

The ceremony was also graced by Ahmad Fedtri Yahya as the chairman of the ceremony and a prayer reading by Pencetus Ummah (PU) Amin.

Ammar and Auni tied the knot on Oct 25 last year.

The couple is scheduled to be celebrated in a ‘Black Tie’ themed ceremony at a hotel in I-City, Shah Alam, tomorrow night, before the ceremony takes place on July 4.
