PPP Malaysia Demands Justice and Accountability Over Inaction on 3R Offences
KUALA LUMPUR, 24 July 2025 — The People’s Progressive Party (PPP) Malaysia has voiced disappointment and grave concern following a recent disclosure by Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department (Law and Institutional Reform), Datuk Seri Azalina Othman Said, that no legal action will be taken against Zamri Vinoth and Firdaus Wong, despite more than 900 police reports filed against the duo for alleged racially and religiously provocative statements.
In a statement issued today, PPP Malaysia President Datuk Dr Loga Bala Mohan said the revelation strikes at the heart of the Rule of Law in Malaysia and undermines national efforts to promote racial and religious harmony.

“This is not only disheartening—it strikes at the very core of the principles underpinning the Rule of Law in Malaysia. At a time when our nation is striving to strengthen unity and foster mutual respect among diverse communities, such inaction on matters involving race, religion, and royalty sets a troubling precedent,” the statement read.
PPP Malaysia stressed that the doctrine of equality before the law must be upheld without fear or favour. It is unacceptable that individuals can continuously make divisive, inflammatory, and culturally insensitive statements with apparent impunity.
“The failure to act in this instance raises critical questions about selective enforcement and whether the 3R boundaries enshrined in our laws are being applied fairly and consistently.
“Each of the over 900 reports filed represents a Malaysian citizen who placed faith in our legal system and chose the lawful path to seek redress. Are we now to tell these citizens that their concerns are inconsequential?
“That the law is malleable depending on identity or influence? That the values of racial and religious harmony can be trampled without consequence?
“This outcome risks eroding public trust in our legal institutions—especially among the youth—and sends a damaging signal that hate speech and provocation can go unchecked, even when the voices of the rakyat are loud and clear,” said Dr Loga Bala Mohan.
PPP Malaysia is also urging the Attorney General’s Chambers (AGC) and relevant authorities to conduct a comprehensive and transparent review of the evidence submitted in the over 900 police reports lodged against Zamri Vinoth and Firdaus Wong.
