PM Anwar Expresses Deep Appreciation to Security Forces during the rally
Kuala Lumpur — Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim extended his heartfelt gratitude to all security personnel, including the police, fire and rescue services, medical teams, and volunteers who have served with swift action, discipline, and unwavering dedication to ensure public safety and the smooth running of the rally gathering.
“I extend my highest appreciation to all members of the security forces—from the police, fire and rescue services, to medical teams and volunteers—who have worked diligently and with great discipline to guarantee public order and the success of today’s event,” Anwar said in a statement.
To all attendees—whether voicing opinions, expressing solidarity, or travelling from afar—the Prime Minister wished them safe journeys home, praying for their protection and ease in travel.
Reaffirming his commitment to democratic principles, Anwar emphasized that freedom of expression and the right to voice criticism must be upheld. Differences in opinion, he noted, should not be viewed through a lens of hostility but instead seen as the lifeblood of a mature, progressive, and sovereign nation.
“What matters most is that these expressions are carried out peacefully, respectfully, and with a deep love for the nation,” he added.
He highlighted that these same principles are reflected in the Prime Minister’s Question Time (PMQT) in Parliament, where Members of Parliament (MPs) are free to question the Prime Minister directly and raise any issues of concern.
“I urge the public to continue pressing their elected representatives to attend and actively participate in all parliamentary sessions, especially the PMQT,” Anwar said.
Calling for constructive engagement beyond protests or street-level discourse, Anwar invited Malaysians to embrace broader intellectual and professional terrains to help propel the nation forward.
“Let us continue to engage in dialogue and discourse—searching for common ground, shaping and building this country together—not merely on the streets, but by venturing into new fields with vigour and clarity, so our nation can move forward with strength and energy,” he said.
Looking ahead, Anwar encouraged everyone to revisit Kuala Lumpur shortly, noting that iconic landmarks such as the Sultan Abdul Samad Building at Dataran Merdeka are currently undergoing major restoration works.
“These efforts are part of our broader push to boost tourism and strengthen the local economy around the capital, which is rich in history, hope, and national spirit—particularly as we gear up for Visit Malaysia Year 2026, which promises a wide array of exciting programmes, God willing,” he concluded.
