adminKUALA LUMPUR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim today expressed his congratulations to veteran film figure, artist and creator Datuk Rahim Razali on his 87th birthday.
Through a post on his Facebook page, Anwar described Rahim as an important figure in the Malaysian art world who enriched the industry through works spanning the ages and uplifting human values, culture and national identity.
“I am confident that his work will continue to be an inspiration and catalyst for generations of artists and art lovers, both now and in the future,” he said.
Through the same message, he also prayed that the actor of the film Matinya Seorang Patriot would be blessed with good health, a blessed age and the strength to continue contributing to the country’s arts and culture.
Born on 3 July 1939 in Batu Gajah, Perak, Rahim Razali is a versatile figure in the country’s creative industry, covering the fields of acting, film directing, scriptwriting as well as the world of sports journalism and broadcasting.
Throughout his more than six decades of involvement in the industry, he has directed and starred in dozens of iconic films and has been named Best Director and Best Actor at the Malaysian Film Festival (FFM).
