Musical Instrument Industry Bands Together to Support Los Angeles Wildfire Victims
22 January, 2025, / In a remarkable display of unity, the musical instrument (MI) industry has come together to support musicians and music programs affected by the recent wildfires in Southern California. Spearheaded by Gibson Gives and The Guitar Center Music Foundation, the initiative aims to raise funds and provide relief to those who lost their instruments and gear in the disaster.
Industry Giants Join Forces
More than 20 leading MI manufacturers, including renowned names such as AKG, Audio-Technica, DW, Eastman, ESP Guitars, Ibanez, JBL Professional, Pearl Drums, Roland, Yamaha, and Zildjian, are contributing to this unprecedented relief effort. These companies have pledged donations and resources to help rebuild the lives of Los Angeles musicians and support humanitarian aid organizations.
Grants for Musicians in Need
The Guitar Center Music Foundation and Gibson Gives have launched a one-time grant program to replace lost instruments and gear for musicians and nonprofit music programs based in Los Angeles. Affected individuals can apply for support through February 28, 2025. Applicants may need to provide proof of loss or address to qualify.
NAMM Foundation Partnership
The initiative has also partnered with the NAMM Foundation’s L.A. Wildfires Relief Fund. During the upcoming NAMM Show (January 23-25) at the Anaheim Convention Center, two relief centers will be set up to inform attendees about the initiative and encourage donations. Attendees who contribute $35 or more onsite to the Guitar Center Music Foundation will receive a special edition branded t-shirt, tote bag, or hat as a token of appreciation.
