SEPANG, Sept 2 (Bernama) — Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region (SAR) Sam Hou Fai arrived in Malaysia for a four-day working visit from today until Sept 5.
The commercial aircraft carrying Sam and his delegation landed at Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) Terminal 1 here at 7.15 pm.
The visit marks Sam’s first working visit to Malaysia since assuming office as the fourth Chief Executive of the Macao SAR in 2024.
Sam, his spouse Wong Sio Peng, and Secretary for Economy and Finance Lei Wai Nong were received by Malaysian Government Chief Protocol Officer Datuk Rozainor Ramli upon arrival.
According to a statement from Wisma Putra, Sam is scheduled to pay a courtesy call on Prime Minister Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim.
Both sides are expected to exchange views on Malaysia-Macao SAR bilateral relations within the context of the “One Country, Two Systems” framework, review the current state of bilateral cooperation and discuss future directions, particularly in trade and the economy, tourism and culture, as well as people-to-people exchanges.
In 2025, total trade between Malaysia and Macao SAR stood at RM367.7 million (US$85.8 million), an increase of 73.6 per cent compared with 2024.
