This is the romantic description of Muar Member of Parliament, Syed Saddiq Syed Abdul Rahman regarding his wedding to famous singer and actress, Bella Astillah, which is scheduled to take place on October 10.
Syed Saddiq said that for him, the most important thing was not the excitement or concept of the ceremony, but rather being able to share love and life with the woman he considered his dream wife.
“I don’t have a dream wedding, but I have a dream wife. That’s the most important thing.”
“When it comes to wedding preparations, I do give you full flexibility or autonomy. The important thing is to get married,” he said when met after the MeleTOP program at the Asia Broadcasting Centre, Bukit Jalil, here on Tuesday night.
The former Minister of Youth and Sports also admitted that he was looking forward to his wedding day with Bella, or her real name is Dayang Ara Nabellah Awang Astillah.
“To be honest, I don’t think this is much of a secret because we planned it with our family and closest friends.
“Just saying this kind of news makes it easier for us to share it with friends who we may not have the chance to meet. I feel relieved and can’t wait for our wedding day,” he said.
Syed Saddiq said engagement ceremonies were also planned in Muar and Sabah to allow more families, friends and the public to celebrate their happy day together.
“It is more important for us to celebrate the people as a whole. That is why we also want to do it in Muar and Sabah so that we can involve as many people as possible,” he said.
Meanwhile, Bella described Syed Saddiq’s simple and flexible character in making decisions as helping to smooth their wedding preparations.
“Thank God, there were actually no ‘conflicts’ in terms of wedding preparations because YB (Syed Saddiq) was very simple and flexible. He said everything was easy and didn’t bother me. So Bella felt relieved there,” she said.
The singer of the song Akihiko Kamu said that both families were happy and could not wait for their happy day, besides emphasizing that family blessings were a priority in their union.
“Bella believes YB (Syed Saddiq) is a very family-oriented person . For Bella, it is very important that we handle this wedding with the blessing of our parents.”
“Alhamdulillah, both families are happy and working together to prepare for the wedding,” he said.
Regarding the scale of the ceremony, Bella informed that they have plans to hold another larger ceremony including celebrating fans and friends, but the wedding ceremony will be held in a modest atmosphere.
He said the decision to celebrate with more guests was made because both of them have a large circle of family and friends.
Meanwhile, Bella explained that their wedding preparations are now 60 percent complete, while the theme of the wedding ceremony will be announced later.
Earlier, the couple announced that they would be getting married on October 10 at the Maybank Merdeka Tower, which is the second tallest building in the world.
Syed Saddiq and Bella tied the knot on March 28.
