JOHOR BAHRU: Hospital Sultanah Aminah Johor Bahru (HSAJB) is now operating with a new look after work to upgrade special facilities for mothers and babies in the Labour & Delivery Building was completed and resumed operations last Thursday.
Johor Health and Environment Committee Chairman, Ling Tian Soon said the reforms provide greater comfort to the people, besides showing the state government’s commitment to providing a safe, modern and conducive health environment.
“Of course, this gives a new face to HSAJB and it also shows the state government’s commitment to providing a more comfortable, safe and modern healthcare environment.
“We want to ensure that every mother receives treatment in a comfortable and conducive atmosphere, while maintaining high safety standards,” he said in a media statement on Wednesday.
Tian Soon said the improved facility layout is now more efficient, supporting quality birth management at the hospital.
Improvements also include waiting areas and treatment rooms with more modern facilities for mothers and babies.
“The public is advised to use alternative routes through the maternity centre building to access the main building during the upgrade work period.
“The improvement works are expected to be fully completed by June 30,” he said.
Meanwhile, the Revenue Counter, Check-In Room (BDM) and Emergency Pharmacy have still been operating on the ground floor of the Labour & Delivery Building since January 30.
The move, he said, is to ensure that health services to the people remain smooth and uninterrupted throughout the upgrading process.
“The state government always emphasizes safety and comfort in every public health project implemented.
“The health of mothers and babies is our priority. With better facilities, the treatment experience at this hospital is expected to be more comfortable and efficient,” he said.
He said this initiative is in line with the Johor Government’s vision of providing quality health services for all citizens.
