KUALA LUMPUR, June 23 (Bernama) — The 2026 Empowering Malaysian Businesses Carnival (Karnival Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia 2026) or HPM 2026, which took place over three days in Melaka, successfully achieved a high-impact target by recording a total business matching value and financing potential reaching RM8.45 million.
The Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP) in a statement said that the carnival, which took place from June 19 to 21, also attracted 70,000 visitors and recorded direct sales of entrepreneur products amounting to RM532,802.77.
According to the statement, a business matching value of RM6.4 million was successfully generated via 72 sessions involving 25 potential entrepreneurs.
In addition, 55 micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) also benefitted from the financial interaction session, which recorded a potential financing amounting to RM2.05 million.
“Following the success of the event in Melaka, the third in the HPM 2026 Carnival series is scheduled to take place in Penang from July 17 to 19 at the Penang Waterfront Convention Centre (PWCC),” according to the statement.
The HPM Carnival is an initiative under the Hebatkan Perniagaan Malaysia agenda, initiated by KUSKOP Minister Steven Sim Chee Keong, to support the implementation of the strategic mission of ABCD (Accelerating Productivity, Bureaucracy Reduction, Capital Accessibility and Developing Market Access) towards strengthening the development of local enterprises.
The initiative provides an integrated platform for SMEs and cooperatives to enhance business capacity, expand strategic networks, and explore new growth opportunities.
