GRS and Pakatan Harapan to Form Alliance for Upcoming Sabah State Election

PETALING JAYA, July 27 – Gabungan Rakyat Sabah (GRS) and Pakatan Harapan (PH) will form an electoral alliance for the upcoming Sabah state election, GRS chairman and Sabah Chief Minister Hajiji Noor announced today.

According to a report by Bernama, both coalitions have reached an agreement to work together in the polls, strengthening their position ahead of a highly anticipated contest.

PH had previously indicated a willingness to cooperate with Barisan Nasional (BN) for the state election.

However, Sabah BN chairman Bung Moktar Radin has since clarified that BN will not partner with GRS before the election, though it may consider cooperation after the results are known.

Prime Minister Anwar Ibrahim had earlier expressed hope that GRS, PH, and BN could unite for the state election to ensure political stability.

Speaking at Parti Gagasan Rakyat Sabah’s general assembly in Kota Kinabalu, Hajiji criticised the opposition, accusing them of undermining the state government’s progress and spreading misinformation.

“The opposition only knows how to twist the facts. They will never appreciate our achievements. All our efforts are either dismissed or ridiculed,” said Hajiji, who also serves as president of Gagasan Rakyat.

He urged party members to remain vigilant against efforts to destabilise the state administration and divide the ruling coalition.

“The struggle to build Sabah’s future must not be derailed by political vendettas and incitement,” he added.
