EPIC Berhad, Four Subsidiaries Receive MSOSH 2026 Recognition

KUALA LUMPUR, Oct 22 (Bernama) — Four subsidiaries of the Terengganu state-linked EPIC Berhad received significant recognition at the 44th Malaysian Society for Occupational Safety and Health (MSOSH) Award 2026, reflecting the Group’s continued efforts to strengthen occupational safety and health (OSH) standards across its operations.

EPIC Berhad in a statement today said EPIC OG Sdn Bhd (EOGSB), which provides engineering and maintenance services to the oil and gas sector, received the MSOSH Gold Merit recognition for the first time after achieving an Excellent OSH Performance Score ranging from 85 to 89.99 per cent.

The achievement marked an improvement on EOGSB’s MSOSH Gold (Class I) recognition received the previous year.

Meanwhile, Pangkalan Bekalan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (PBKSB), an oil and gas supply base and support base services provider, and Konsortium Pelabuhan Kemaman Sdn Bhd (KPKSB), operator of Kemaman Port, including the East Wharf and Liquid Chemical Berth, each received the MSOSH Gold Class I recognition.

According to the statement, Sukma Samudra Sdn Bhd (SSSB), operator of West Wharf also received the MSOSH Silver award, marking its first MSOSH recognition.

EPIC Berhad Group Chief Executive Officer Dr Ts Muhtar Suhaili said the four MSOSH recognitions were more than mere paper achievements, as they reflected the Group’s shared commitment to prioritising occupational safety and health across all its activities.

“We believe a strong safety culture must be consistently upheld through adherence to established procedures, effective risk management and the active participation of every employee,” he said.

Muhtar said the achievements reflected the collective dedication of the Group’s workforce to embedding safe working practices in its day-to-day operations.

He added that the Group’s goal was not merely to attain industry recognition but to ensure everyone involved in its operations could work in a safe and sound environment.

“For us at EPIC Berhad, true success lies in making safety an integral part of our working culture and translating that commitment into concrete action and continuous improvement,” he said.

The award ceremony, organised by MSOSH, was officiated by Deputy Works Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Maslan in Petaling Jaya, Selangor.

EPIC Berhad said the Group would continue to strengthen its workforce’s OSH competencies and awareness, while enhancing engagement with contractors, business partners and other stakeholders to promote safe working practices throughout its operational value chain.

First held in 1982, the annual MSOSH Award serves as an industry benchmark in recognising Malaysian organisations that consistently maintain high standards in OSH management and implementation.
