adminKUALA LUMPUR: Professional running brand, BMAI introduces its latest full carbon-plated marathon shoe, the GCARBON TURBO 4, which is specially designed to help runners achieve personal bests in long-distance races.
The launch of the flagship model marks BMAI’s latest step in strengthening running equipment innovation through a combination of the latest technologies that focus on performance, stability and user comfort.
Head of BMAI Malaysia, Hunter Wang, said that the GCARBON TURBO 4 was developed specifically for experienced runners who are aiming for a marathon time of under three hours and 30 minutes, as well as being suitable for use by competitive runners in training sessions at race pace.
According to him, the model incorporates several key technologies including a full T1000 carbon plate, Evonik’s enhanced BoomMAX nylon supercritical foam, a flexible one-piece tongue and a Cast PU outsole.
“This latest collection is our flagship carbon-plated marathon racing shoe developed with the ultimate goal of helping runners achieve their personal bests.
“We want to provide better support to runners so they can maintain a stable, natural and controlled stride as they pursue their next best,” he said during the launch of the model here on Wednesday.
He said that the use of T1000 full carbon plates helps produce a more responsive push-off force with each step, thus allowing runners to maintain momentum and efficiency while increasing speed.
To increase stability, the shoe also features a wider midsole design with the front section widened by four millimeters (mm) and the middle section by six mm.
Wang said the combination allows users to enjoy better support underfoot as well as helping with smoother energy transfer from the landing phase to toe-off.
In terms of comfort, the GCARBON TURBO 4 uses woven mesh material on the upper of the shoe to ensure good airflow, while the flexible one-piece tongue helps provide a tighter fit.
At the same time, the Cast PU outsole offers better grip on road surfaces in both dry and wet conditions, making it an ideal choice for a variety of training and racing situations.
The GCARBON TURBO 4 weighs approximately 135 grams for size 37 and 172 grams for size 41, and comes with a 4.5 mm drop. The shoes are priced at RM629 per pair.
However, in conjunction with its launch, BMAI is offering a special introductory price of RM499 for the first month through BMAI’s official store and selected authorized retailers.
Founded in China in 2015, BMAI or “Be Myself” focuses on the development of professional running shoes, clothing and equipment.
In Malaysia, the brand currently has three BMAI Runner House locations in Kepong, Setapak and Seberang Jaya, with plans to expand its presence to Johor Bahru and the East Coast area in the future.
