Batik Air Welcomes Formation of Unified Aviation Regulator in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR – Batik Air has expressed strong support for the Malaysian Government’s move to consolidate aviation oversight under a single autonomous body, with the Civil Aviation Authority of Malaysia (CAAM) set to become the sole regulator for the industry effective 1 August 2025.

The airline hailed the initiative as a progressive step towards improving regulatory efficiency and coordination across Malaysia’s aviation sector.

By streamlining oversight under one authority, Batik Air believes the transition will create a more seamless regulatory environment, enhancing operational effectiveness for industry stakeholders.

In a statement, Batik Air extended its gratitude to the Malaysian Aviation Commission (MAVCOM) for its years of service and contributions to the growth of the aviation industry in the country.

The airline acknowledged MAVCOM’s role in helping shape a more resilient and passenger-centric aviation ecosystem.

Looking ahead, Batik Air reaffirmed its commitment to working closely with CAAM, supporting efforts to position Malaysia as a competitive and sustainable regional aviation hub.
