Singapore – Airbus and Women in Aviation International – Singapore Chapter (WAI-SG) have strengthened their collaboration with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a five-year strategic partnership to foster gender balance in the aerospace industry, and support a diverse and inclusive workforce in Singapore.
The partnership framework focuses on several key pillars, including the promotion of gender diversity at national flagship events, such as the Singapore Airshow, and the development of mentorship and education programs to support women throughout their professional journeys.
A notable component of this initiative includes the sponsorship of one scholarship, for an initial duration of one year. WAI-SG scholars will also be eligible for consideration for internship opportunities within the operations of Airbus.
“While we have long valued our relationship with Women in Aviation, this MoU represents a natural step toward formalising our shared efforts to support gender balance in the region and in the industry,” said Anand Stanley, President Airbus Asia-Pacific region. “We are pleased to provide a framework for continuing our dialogue on how to best encourage the next generation of professionals. By exploring initiatives such as our 2026 scholarship and local mentorship, we hope to contribute meaningfully to an environment where everyone can see a path for themselves in aviation.”
This agreement marks a significant milestone in ensuring that the future of aerospace remains accessible to all, providing a structured framework for multi-year cooperation and discussion. By aligning the localised network of WAI-SG with the industry leadership of Airbus, both parties aim to inspire the next generation of aviation professionals through youth outreach and social engagement projects.
