adminKUCHING: The Sarawak Southern Zone United Bumiputera Party (PBB) convention scheduled for Sept 20 is an important platform to strengthen unity and consensus within the party and coordinate the direction of its struggle.
PBB Senior Vice President, Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof said the convention also aimed to strengthen the party machinery so that it would remain relevant, effective and always prioritize the interests of the people and the state of Sarawak.
“Through this convention, we ensure that the entire leadership and grassroots move as one in unison in achieving a more advanced, inclusive and sustainable Sarawak development agenda under the leadership of the Premier of Sarawak, Tan Sri Abang Johari Tun Openg.
“God willing, with the commitment of all parties, we will ensure that the Sarawak UN Convention Southern Zone runs smoothly and achieves its goals,” he said.
Fadillah, who is also the Deputy Prime Minister, said this in a Facebook post on Sunday after chairing the Sarawak PBB Convention Main Committee Meeting for the Southern Zone, which discussed various aspects of preparations ahead of the convention.
He said the meeting focused on the appointment of committee members, coordination of the organizing aspects, logistics, program itinerary as well as the committee’s preparedness to ensure that the convention could be implemented in an orderly, smooth manner and achieve the set objectives.
