BateriHub listed in ASEAN Records as the largest car battery retail chain

KUALA LUMPUR: BateriHub has been officially listed in ASEAN Records for its achievement as the “First and Largest Directly Owned Car Battery Retailer by branch count and floor area following its expansion to 200 branches nationwide.

The listing in ASEAN Records recognises BateriHub’s directly owned retail network consisting of 200 outlets with a total floor area of 340,875.68 square feet.

The recognition was presented in conjunction with the BateriHub annual dinner and ASEAN Records Recognition event yesterday, attended by BateriHub founders Kok Wai Kit and Wong Wai Loong along with their general manager, Stanly Ng and ASEAN Records managing director, Gilian Ooi.

Ng said the ASEAN Records listing confirmed how the company had been built, not only in terms of size but also structure and execution.
“It confirms that our directly owned model, operating system and team can be further developed and sustainable at the national level,” he told Bernama.

Ng said BateriHub’s strong growth was driven by three key factors including a 100 percent directly owned business model, continued investment in human resources and systems, and a data-driven expansion strategy.

“Our directly owned model gives us full control over service quality, pricing and brand standards at each branch, which is essential when customers need immediate assistance,” he said.

He said the company has prioritized training and operational consistency to ensure the same customer mindset across all locations including secondary cities as well as relying on operational data to guide sustainable expansion.

Ng also said the recognition reflects the collective efforts of BateriHub’s workforce and consistent service delivery across its nationwide network, as well as the trust Malaysians have in the brand built through reliable daily service.

In 2025, BateriHub achieved several important milestones including increasing its branch network from 100 to 200 branches within a year, after taking 13 years to establish its first 100 branches.

The company also recorded sales growth of 40.11 percent compared to 2024, its workforce grew by 117 percent to 467 employees while bonuses increased by 14 percent year-on-year and average salary increases of between three and five percent.

Moving forward, Ng said BateriHub plans to expand to Sabah and Sarawak in the third quarter of this year following market research and site visits.

On regional expansion, he said ASEAN expansion, including the potential to expand the business to Singapore, remained part of the company’s five-year strategic roadmap although no definite timeline had been finalised.

BateriHub aims to reach 300 branches by the end of 2026 and plans to launch a mobile app, introduce a more sophisticated point-of-sale system, move to a new warehouse facility and establish a new marketing and customer service office.

Established in 2011, BateriHub is the largest directly owned car battery retailer in Malaysia, serving over one million customers nationwide and operating in over 500 service areas in 11 states.
