Liim Announces Debut Album Liim Lasalle Loves You

Fresh off the release of his recent single “Older Than Me”, which was chosen by Pitchfork for their weekly Selects Playlist, Harlem-raised artist Liim has just announced that his debut album Liim Lasalle Loves You will arrive later this year on September 12th via THREE TIMES LOUDER.

The announcement is accompanied by the album’s second single, “Mezcal”, which finds Liim floating thoughtful reflections on his life’s journey thus far (“I ain’t never seen somebody go through what I did and try to get up/Chest out”) across a backdrop of woozy synths and fluttering hi-hats.

In addition to earning a co-sign from Tyler, The Creator, the track arrives on the heels of recent outings “Edward 40 Handz” and “Sahara Freestyle” and also follows the release of his 2024 debut EP Petty Pete.

Stamping his first full-length offering, Liim Lasalle Loves You is a raw and reflective coming-of-age statement, exploring the emotional complexity of growing into adulthood through the lens of shifting relationships, deep friendships, and hard-earned life lessons.

Raised in Harlem and now based in Brooklyn, Liim has quickly made a name for himself for his unique blend of hip-hop, soul, and alternative soundscapes, embodying a patchwork of life experiences from his New York City heritage.

Despite attracting collaborators across fashion, music, and art, he remains close to the ground — his wisdom far surpassing his years.

Still only 21 years old, he’s already modeled for Gucci and Supreme and has also recently earned critical praise from outlets like Pigeons & Planes, who hailed him as an artist whose music would “fit right in on a mix with artists like Blood Orange, Pharrell, and Steve Lacy.

Since his debut single “Pupils” (with Opraah) in 2022, the 21-year-old Harlem-raised artist, Liim, has quickly become one of New York’s most promising new rappers.

Drawing on bespoke, jazz-infused production, jagged rhythms, ghostly soul fragments, and freeform lyrical flows, Liim’s genre-blending approach has resulted in a sound that bends structure and mood, fusing hip-hop, soul, and alternative soundscapes that reflect his New York City upbringing.

Having recently modeled for Gucci and Supreme, as well as gaining the recognition of Tyler, The Creator for tracks like “Petty Pete”“Edward 40 Handz”, and “Older Than Me”Liim has rapidly established himself within the NYC creative community and beyond.
