Zahiril Adzim rejected the Hollywood film audition offer
ACTOR Zahiril Adzim admitted that he was not disappointed in rejecting an offer to act in a Hollywood production that demanded him to act in a bed scene for violating his principles as a Muslim.
Without thinking twice, Zahiril said he did not hesitate and immediately rejected the offer as soon as he read the script.
“I once turned down a casting offer with a Hollywood production a few years ago, I’ve forgotten the title but I turned it down.
“I read the script, there’s nothing yet, there’s already a scene on the bed so I kept saying goodbye. The script demanded me and the actress to be half naked. No, you can’t. I don’t want to do it,” he said after the screening of Ada Hantu 2 on Tuesday.
Zahiril explained again, although he has the desire to spread his wings to the international stage, he will never forget the religious law.
“I’m not really chasing Hollywood, but if given the chance, who wouldn’t want it. But if I have to break (the law) like that, I am willing to refuse.
“It is true that an actor should do anything for the character but it depends on the actor. I have my own stand, my own principles and I will never put them aside,” he explained.
In other developments, Zahiril will appear in a film directed by Hairul Azreen entitled Ada Hantu 2 which will be shown in cinemas nationwide from September 15.
Apart from Zahiril, Ada Hantu 2 also stars Hairul Azreen, Shiqin Kamal, Nafiez Zaidi, Elvina Chua and Rubini Sambanthan.
