Who holds the keys to the Kaaba?

Before this, a long time ago, the original guardian was the grandson of Qusai Bib Kilab Bin Murrah.

ALTHOUGH the Grand Mosque and the Kaaba are now in the custody of the Saudi Arabian government, the keys to the Kaaba are guarded by the Al-Shaiba tribe.

Before this, a long time ago, the original guardian was the grandson of Qusai Bib Kilab Bin Murrah.

Citing several Saudi Arabian news portals that reported, after the conquest of Mecca, Ali Ibn Talib brought the key to the Kaaba from Othman Ibn Talha, the custodian of the Kaaba but not a Muslim.

As soon as that happened, God said that Prophet Muhammad SAW would return the key to the rightful owner.

“God commands you to return the trust to those who deserve it; and when you judge two people, judge equally.” (Surah An-Nisa 4:58)

Prophet Muhammad then ordered Ali Ibn Talib to return the key to Othman Ibn Talha and apologize for the mistake.

Othman Ibn Talha was surprised, how the conqueror of Mecca returned the key to him even though he was not a Muslim.

Ali Ibn Talib then told him, God wants him to keep the key to the Kaaba.

Hearing that, Othman Ibn Talha continued to embrace Islam and until now, Bani Shaiba continues to be the guardian of the keys of the Kaaba.

Therefore, they are in charge of taking care of the holy place, including opening and closing the door of the Temple, taking care of and washing the Kishwah, a large cloth that covers the Temple.

What do you think the key to the Kaaba looks like?

The lock is made of nickel, plated with 18 carat gold and is 35 centimeters long.

The key was kept in a green bag with gold embroidery on it with a quote written on it: “Allah commands you to do your duty for the sake of the people.”
