‘What is the fate of the otai actor who does not have many followers?’
ACTOR, comedian and singer Joey Daud expressed regret over some parties who still look at the number of followers on social media as a measure to star in a script.
Clearly Joey or his real name is Zulkifli Daud, 49, he doesn’t mind opening up opportunities to YouTubers or acting influencers but should start from the bottom.
“Right now followers on social media can be bought and this way indirectly teaches others to cheat in order to position themselves in the art world.
“What is the fate of the ‘otai’ actor who does not have social media? I have just created an Instagram account if he is included. I really hope that it is not an actor who has no followers, the production team does not want to take on acting when we know his ability.
“I’m a little disappointed when this happens. Actually, I don’t care if I want to give an opportunity to influencers or YouTubers to plunge into the art world, but don’t continue to be given important characters instead start with additional characters,” he said when met at the Gadis Jolobu The press conference. Joey added that he had faced a situation where an influencer who did not have the ability and acting knowledge came to the set to make the production difficult.
“This happened because they do not understand the language of the camera and it is difficult for the entire production team and actors. There is no doubt that such things always happen.
“Every actor has a different character, so if this group keeps making mistakes, of course they will lose patience.
“Actually, the director on the set doesn’t have time to teach each actor to understand the character. So before entering the set, think about this and don’t bother others,” he added.
Meanwhile, Gadis Jolobu The Movie which is currently being filmed in Negeri Sembilan will be screened in cinemas in June this year.
