Waving the Jalur Gemilang, the flag of Pahang to celebrate the National Month – Wan Rosdy
TEMERLOH: Pahang Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Wan Rosdy Wan Ismail called on the people of this state to fly the Jalur Gemilang and the state flag to make the National Month a success.
He said the flag should be flown with pride in all premises including residences, businesses, educational institutions and offices because it can awaken patriotic spirit in oneself.
“The Jalur Gemilang and the state flag should not only be flown in August but this practice should be done all the time. This practice should be ‘trending’ and cultured so that we don’t forget our origins,” he said.
Wan Rosdy said this while speaking at the Pahang-level National Month and Jalur Gemilang 2022 Waving Ceremony at Semantan Walk here yesterday, which was also attended by state Tourism, Culture, Environment, Plantation and Commodity Committee Chairman Datuk Seri Mohd Sharkar Shamsudin.
He also advised the people of this state to remain united and ensure racial unity continues by avoiding getting involved in anything that could cause racial strife that would only harm the state and the country.
“Respect each person with a mutual respect that will make our lives more peaceful without any conflicts and animosity that will ultimately harm the harmony that has been built all this time,” he said.
He said political and state stability is also important so that more development projects can be implemented smoothly, in addition to attracting the presence of investors who bring income to the state government which is ultimately returned to the people in the form of development and assistance to those who deserve it.
Wan Rosdy also reminded the importance of continuing to ‘remind’ young people about the struggle of past heroes such as Mat Kilau, Datuk Bahaman and Tok Gajah against the colonialists so that the younger generation does not forget the sacrifices of previous generations.
