US actor Steven Seagal received an award from Putin
MOSCOW: Kremlin leader Vladimir Putin presented the “Russian Order of Friendship” award to United States (US) actor Steven Seagal, famous for the 1990 US action thriller Hard to Kill , the German Press Agency (dpa) reported.
Seagal, who holds Russian citizenship, among others received the award for his “significant contribution to the development of international culture and humanity”, according to Putin’s decree published on Monday.
The 70-year-old actor has starred in various action films and is the Russian Foreign Ministry’s special representative for humanitarian relations with the United States and Japan.
He is also a member of the pro-Kremlin Just Russia party and is accused of repeatedly toeing Moscow’s propaganda line.
