‘Ultraman’ series star Jiro Dan dies
Japanese actor who starred in the popular 70s series ‘ The Return of Ultraman ‘, Jiro Dan, has died at the age of 74, Yahoo News reports .
He who played the main character as Hideki Go who is also Ultraman Jack in the series, died on March 22 at 4.14pm local time due to lung cancer.
The news of the passing of Dan or his real name, Hideo Murata, was revealed by actor Ryu Manatsu, best known for his role as Gen Ohtori in Ultraman Leo via his Twitter page on Friday.
According to his agency, Alpha Agency, Dan’s condition is said to have worsened since the end of last year.
Dan’s funeral will also only be attended by his closest relatives.
In addition to that series, Dan also made appearances in several series of the Ultraman franchise, including Super Sentai, where his final appearance was in the Kishiryu Sentai series Ryusoulger.
