Twitter Blue launched on Monday, a more expensive subscription for Apple users
Twitter Blue’s paid features include blue checkmarks, the ability to edit tweets, high-quality video uploads, and a reader mode view.
WASHINGTON: Twitter Blue will begin rolling out next week, reports Sputnik.
“We’re relaunching @TwitterBlue on Monday,” Twitter said on its official page on Saturday.
Twitter will start charging US$8 (RM35) per month for web subscriptions, while iOS subscriptions cost US$11 (RM49) per month.
Paid features include blue checkmarks, tweet editing capabilities, high-quality video uploads, and reader mode display.
“We will begin replacing the ‘official’ label with a gold checkmark for business, and a gray checkmark for government and multilateral accounts.
“Customers can change settings including display name and photo, but if they do, they will temporarily lose their blue checkmark until their account is reviewed,” according to Twitter.
In late October, billionaire Elon Musk finalized the acquisition of Twitter worth US$44 billion.
Musk overhauled the company’s day-to-day operations, including firing half of his employees and Twitter executives responsible for setting the platform’s privacy, cybersecurity and censorship.
