Travis Scott Returns to Coachella with Dazzling Visuals and Floating Dancers
Travis Scott made a high-concept return to Coachella on April 12, headlining the second night of the festival with a visually stunning set that included levitating dancers, a circular moving platform, and orchestral reinterpretations of his hits. Performing in the heart of the crowd, the Houston rapper was supported by a live brass band and opened with tracks like ‘Aye’ and ‘Crush’, alongside two unreleased songs.
This marked Scott’s first Coachella appearance since 2017, and promotional materials promised he would “design the desert.” He largely stuck to a rotating central stage, only stepping onto the main platform briefly for songs ‘Skyfall’ and ‘Highest in the Room’. The show’s technical ambition, including moments where backup dancers seemed to float mid-air, earned applause from many online.
Despite the spectacle, reactions were split. Fans were critical of Scott’s late arrival and the subdued crowd energy, with some joking that smoke effects obscured the elaborate visuals. Others were disappointed by the lack of surprise guest appearances, often a hallmark of Coachella sets.
